GRISWOLD 2009 COMES TO AN END!

GRISWOLD 2009 - "GRISWOLDS GO FOR BROKE - THE RECESSION TOUR" - DAY 14
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 6

All good things must come to an end and so it was on this nice day in early September. The main destination was a place called the Ecotarium in Worcester, MA. The Ecotarium is kind of a nature center with a small working and very hands on museum portion as well as some outdoor nature walks and some animal exhibits. In general, we found that the displays and hands on things were probably more aimed at younger children, but there was something there for all ages.

We began with the indoor exhibits. There were some interesting displays and a few critters indoors.

Erik really got into this terrarium...really...got into it...really!

This guy was much more active than we imagined in his simulated night-like environment.

This polar bear was kind enough to pop its head out of the water and say "hello!"

One of the nature areas had a pond with a lot of bullfrogs and tadpoles.

Then there was a display with a pair of otters who were almost non-stop motion.

Yes...here's the proof! Every once in a while, Rebecca and Erik really are nice to each other.

We left the Ecotarium and headed back towards Boston, stopping in Natick at the Village Green Miniature Golf Course for another of our spirited summer matches. The course has a colonial flavor with a lot of Boston area historic buildings figuring into the decor. The guys won again, but a fun time was had by all.
So with that, Griswold 2009 - Griswolds Go For Broke, The Recession Tour comes to an end. It lasted from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend, so it was a little spread out, but we saw a lot and shared a lot of family time with each other. That's really what it's all about!
